ASHLEY STONE, MA, LPC

Ashley Stone, MA, LPC, is known for her great energy, humor, and expertise, too.

Ashley has worked in mental health since 2005. While completing her undergraduate program at Mercyhurst, she worked with clients with alcohol and drug dependencies. After completing her BA, she found her calling in working with children and adolescents.

Ashley worked as a Therapeutic Staff Support, gaining knowledge and experience in the treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorders, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Conduct Disorder, and Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. Ashley carried this knowledge into her work with families as a Family-Based Therapist upon completion of her MA at Waynesburg. She has acquired extensive knowledge in community resources and different community agencies as she worked as a family resource specialist in Washington County.

Since beginning her professional career, Ashley has been trained in several different therapeutic theories. However, her main theoretical focus is Family Systems Theory, which views human behavior as the result of the complex interactions within the family unit itself. Ashley also uses techniques related to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help individuals relate their thoughts/actions to their feelings/emotions.

Ashley has a funny, caring and energetic disposition which helps her sessions to be light and enjoyable. Ashley values each individual’s needs and uses a variety of techniques to appropriately and effectively meet one’s personal treatment goals.
